About

Built where the math and the clinic meet.

HemiLogic is a wearable neurotechnology company in Cincinnati, founded on one conviction about how machine intelligence should behave in neurological care: if it cannot explain itself, it is not finished.

The name

HemiLogic

Hemi for the two hemispheres of the brain. Logic for the fuzzy inference that reads them. The overlapping shapes in the mark are membership functions, the mathematics the platform runs on, drawn as the two halves of a brain. The split down the middle is the seam between signal and interpretation, which is exactly where we work.

Explainable AI Neurotech is the whole company in three words. Neurotech is what we build. AI is how it decides. Explainable is the promise that every decision can be read.

Founder

Haidar Bin Hamid

Founder of HemiLogic. PhD Student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, working on biomedical AI engineering, devices and entrepreneurship, and researching explainable AI, fuzzy logic systems and agentic architectures under Dr. Kelly Cohen in the AI Bio Lab. He holds an MEng in Artificial Intelligence Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a BBA from Ohio University, and he is the founder and CEO of Xtainable LLC, an applied AI company in Cincinnati.

His published work spans interpretable fuzzy inference and multimodal AI safety, with peer-reviewed contributions through Springer, the Association for Computational Linguistics and the European Conference on Computer Vision. HemiLogic applies that line of research to the problem it was always pointed at: neurological disease, and the gap between what happens to a patient and what a clinician can see.

Principles

How we intend to build.

Interpretability is not optional

If a clinician cannot follow the reasoning, the output does not ship. This constrains our model choices on purpose.

One defensible product first

A narrow indication done rigorously beats a platform that claims four and validates none. Two sensor sites and one add-on, SureHand, are that product.

Evidence before claims

Marketing language will not run ahead of what the data and the regulatory pathway support. Every page on this site says "in development" because it is true.

Where we are going

Three goals we measure ourselves against.

Build wide teams

Engineers, clinicians and students working on the same problem in the same room. The array and the add-ons are too broad for any one discipline to build alone, and we would not want to.

Win sustained funding

External support, from investors and from research programs, at the scale and duration it takes to move a device from bench to a first study and beyond.

Turn research into patents

Protected inventions that earn attention beyond Cincinnati, so the work has a life outside the lab and the company that started it.

Cincinnati

Where we are building it.

HemiLogic grew out of the University of Cincinnati research ecosystem and is being built in the region's clinical and medical device community. We are actively developing relationships with clinical partners in movement disorders, epilepsy, memory care and neurorehabilitation.
